From Father’s Desk

Dear Parishioners,

10-16-16-bulletinIt has been a beautiful day in Assisi–it’s such a holy place. To see the place where St. Francis and St. Clare lived, did all there good work and offered their sufferings, all to build the Church – it’s moving and humbling. The prayer below can be found before the San Damiano crucifix, and it expresses so well the faith of those two spiritual giants.

The Prayer of St Francis Before the Crucifixst-francis

Most high, glorious God, cast Your light into the darkness of my heart.

Give me, Lord, right faith, firm hope, perfect charity, and profound humility, wisdom and perception, So that I may carry out what is truly Your holy will. Amen.

Love and peace,
(or as St Francis liked to say, Peace and goodness)
