From Father’s Desk

Dear Parishioners,

It was several months ago that I told you I would be going on pilgrimage to Fatima ~ the time is almost here.

Next Sunday I leave for Lisbon. I’ll be making pilgrimage dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Each day I will offer mass, pray the rosary, and pray with fellow pilgrims as we journey to the site of the apparitions of the Angel and Our Lady at Fatima. I’ll be leading a group of 32 pilgrims, and be accompanied by two other priests.

On arriving in Lisbon, we will offer Mass in the Church of Saint Anthony ~ it is built on the site where St. Anthony was born. The next day it’s on the road through Portugal to Santarem, where we will offer Mass at a church which commemorates a Eucharistic miracle. We will also visit and offer Mass in Coimbra, where Sister Lucia, one of the “little shepherds” to whom the celestial visitors appeared, lived in cloister.

We will spend several days in Fatima, including July 13th, the hundredth anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady when She allowed the children a glimpse of the torments of hell. We will pray the rosary, the Stations of the Cross, and participate in candlelight procession each evening. I’ll send back pictures to be posted on our Parish website.

Know that I will be keeping you all in prayer, and will offer your intentions through the intercession of St. Anthony, Our Lady, and the Angel.

Please join with me in prayer by offering the prayers on the cards distributed at church, and especially in saying the rosary each day in union with me. If you would like me to remember any particular intentions, please email them to me, or send them to the rectory, or give them to me at church.

Immaculate Mary, pray for us!

Love & peace,
Fr. Liam Quinlan
