“Everything starts from prayer.” “Cling to the Rosary…for without Our Lady we cannot stand.”
Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
Mother Teresa’s humble life and love for Christ was lived out serving the poorest of the poor, and her prayer and witness had an effect on the entire world. Her feast day is is Tuesday, September 5th. Let us ask Saint Teresa of Calcutta to intercede for us on September 5th, as we offer our daily rosary. A few days later-on Sunday, we can again call upon her. On September 10, 1946, a day which her sisters now celebrate as “Inspiration Day,” Mother Teresa re-ceived what she described as a “call within a call.”
She had been traveling on a train to Darjeeling when she received an “inspiration,” a message that told her to leave the convent and help the poor by living among them. Mother Teresa said her epiphany came in the form of an interior message-which stunned her by its clarity and insistence, and the conviction that it was from the Lord-as she was riding a train from Cal-cutta to the hill town of Darjeeling on Sept. 10, 1946. “The message was quite clear-it was an order, He wanted me to be poor and to love Him in the distress-ing disguise of the poorest of the poor.”
Let us ask together that this humble saint intercede that we might hear the voice of the Lord in our hearts.
