We’re moving quickly through Lent, and our Parish Collaborative Committee is up and collaborating.
The first Collaborative Committee meeting of the Parishes of St Gabriel and St Cecilia was held last month. A working group of 12 parishioners chosen from the members of the two Visioning committees forms the new group. The team of 12 is made up of an equal number from each Parish. The team is facilitated by Patrick Turner, the Director of Strategic and Pastoral Planning for the Diocese. Patrick has worked extensively in other dioceses in this field and will navigate the process for us. In meetings leading up to the formation of this Collaborative Team, each Parish Team identified strengths and weaknesses of the Parishes. Father Connaughton will be involved in the discussions and will give insight and guidance to the discussions and deliberations throughout this collaborative committee process.
The Team will focus on 5 primary areas leading up to June 30th:
- Liturgy & Worship
- Catechesis & Education
- Parish Life & Leadership
- Buildings & Finances
The Team will continue to meet frequently over the next three months to bring into being the vision of our collaborative Parish. As information is available, regular updates will be provided to you.
Please keep in your prayers the good work being done.
